Haikal is a clinical psychologist who specialises in adolescent and adult mental health. He received his postgraduate training in clinical psychology from the National University of Singapore (NUS), under a full scholarship by the National Council of Social Service. He has gained much experience as a clinical psychologist in various settings, including the social services, hospitals and private practice.

Haikal is a registered psychologist and supervisor with the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS). He is also accredited as a Certified Substance Abuse Therapist by the Asia Pacific Certification Board, and is certified as a psychiatric rehabilitation practitioner by the U.S. Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association.

He is trained in various therapy modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Positive Psychology. He is also Choice Theory / Reality Therapy Certified (CTRTC). He integrates these approaches in therapy to suit the individual needs of his clients.

Haikal has much experience providing individual and group therapy to individuals seeking to overcome mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, psychosis and insomnia. He is also skilled providing couple therapy, such as for couples seeking to rebuild their relationship after the occurrence of infidelity, or couples simply aiming to regain the sense of romance and excitement in their relationship.

Haikal adopts a collaborative approach in therapy, where his role is to assist his clients in becoming aware of the obstacles in their growth and empowering them to overcome these obstacles. Despite his calm and empathetic demeanour, clients can be expected to work hard in sessions. When appropriate, Haikal may also inject a good dose of humour during therapy.

Haikal consults part-time at Fernhill Psychology and Counseling, on Wednesdays until 7:00 pm, and (Mondays/Thursdays) until 3:00 pm. He speaks English and Malay, as well as intermediate levels of conversational Mandarin.
