Doctor of Clinical Psychology, MA (Hons) Experimental Psychology, Master Solution Focused Therapist (IASTI) and Professional Certified Coach (ICF)
Jane is a Clinical Psychologist from the United Kingdom originally. She has over 15 years experience in adult mental health and specialises in individual psychological therapy, couples therapy and coaching. She also offers clinical supervision for healthcare professionals.
She has a keen interest in cross cultural psychology and mental health issues and the challenges of how to adjust well and thrive when living abroad. A particular area of interest is in working with couples in cross cultural relationships.
Her primary model of therapy and coaching is using the solution focused approach. This focuses on the clients’ vision for the future and she works closely with them to build on and develop their strengths, resources and skills needed to achieve this vision. It is a very powerful evidence based approach that can make a big difference to peoples lives in a short space of time. She also draws on other models such as cognitive behavioural therapy as needed to tailor therapy to each person’s needs.
After training, she initially worked in the UK National Health Service, focusing on adult mental health. This included working in both primary and secondary mental health care services as well as in acute psychiatric wards. From 2008 to 2016, she worked in Singapore in a variety of settings including two different private practices, with the Early Psychosis Intervention Programme at the Institute of Mental Health and as a Lecturer at James Cook University. After 4 years living in Finland and running her own private practice, she has recently returned ‘home’ to Singapore.
Jane is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and a Practitioner Psychologist with Health and Care Professions Council in the UK. She is a Master Solution Focused Practitioner certified by the International Alliance of Solution Focused Teaching Institutes and a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation. She is a full member of the Singapore Psychological Society.
She offers face to face appointments at Fernhill on Tuesdays and Thurdays (9-3) but is available for online sessions on other days and some evenings.
