no photo yetMaya has more than 30 years of experience in Counselling and Life Coaching of Families, Couples and Youth.

She provides these services to those challenged by a variety of issues such as behavioural issues, substance abuse, anxiety disorders, loss and grief, trauma, educational and career issues, marriage and relationship issues and similar other issues.

In her practice she uses an integrative strengths-based approach which is systemically based to enable a holistic understanding of the issues. She also uses a wide range of therapeutic modalities, but she is particularly interested in Person Centred Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Choice Therapy/Reality Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Gestalt Therapy.

Currently, as a Counsellor and Life Coach at Fernhill, she provides Counselling integrated with Life Coaching for individuals, couples, and families.

Her youth and young adult life was spent counselling extensively with youth and young adults from schools and universities. During these years she also travelled extensively, and has counselled families, couples and youth in the USA, UK, Australia, South Africa and most of the Asian Countries which has equipped her today to understand the impact of cultural differences on relationships.

Maya has an M.A. in Counselling, an M. Div. and has also completed her education in Corporate Administration and worked in several companies in Singapore as their Corporate Secretarial Manager. She is an Associate Member of the Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland (The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators).
