Oksana Okhrimenko

Oksana has been working as a counsellor in Singapore since 2010, providing her professional services to adults, teenagers and couples. She specializes in working with trauma, PTSD, chronic pain, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, grief, existential and identity crises, and relationship issues. Her professional interests include an exploration of the role of spiritual dimensions in well-being, as well as a relationship between nutrition and mental health.

Oksana is an experiential counsellor, which means that she creates the context for her clients to have the experiences necessary for change and healing. She is a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), as well as a certified practitioner of Ericksonian Hypnosis. These methods allow her to reach beyond the cognitive-emotional dimension, adding a possibility of an intervention at physiological level. Therefore, Oksana assists her clients in accessing their natural physiological mechanisms of self-regulation, through the embodied awareness of the felt sense, sounds, and movements. As a result of that work, her clients are able to deal with overwhelming feelings and rediscover the sense of aliveness.

For relationship work, Oksana uses the method developed by Gay and Kathlyn Hendricks. This method is experiential and playful in nature while also being deeply transformative. People of any gender and sexual orientation are warmly welcomed.

Oksana obtained her Master of Guidance and Counselling, and BA (Psychology) from James Cook University, Australia. She is qualified as a Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, having trained with Richard Bandler, Paul McKenna and Michael Neill in London. She completed Ericksonian Hypnosis Training, learning directly from one of the students of Erickson, Dr. Jeffrey Zeig in Phoenix, USA. She also trained with renowned hypnotherapist in Moscow, Dr. Michail Ginzburg. Oksana is currently training in Strategic Interventions with Tony Robbins and Dr. Cloe Madanes.

Oksana is originally from the Ukraine, and besides counselling in English, she also provides counselling in Russian language. Her previous experience includes work as a research scientist in area of biochemistry at the University of Zurich and ETH, Switzerland; which set a basis for her understanding of physiology and nutrition aspects in counselling.
