Sanchia provides individual therapy for adults and teenagers with personal and relationship issues. Her areas of interest and experience are in working with emotional disorders, including issues such as anxiety, depression and difficulties with emotional regulation.

Sanchia believes in a genuine, non-judgemental stance to her practice. Her therapeutic approach is evidence based and she brings a client-centred, collaborative and integrated perspective to her counselling, so as to meet each individual’s needs. She aims to encourage each client to find hope. With a flexible approach and creative style, she supports clients in using their strengths to both build resilience and to make positive life changes to reach their true potential.

Her background in Transactional Analysis and Schema Therapy can help clients understand their history and patterns of behaviour and build paths towards value-driven lives. For clients wishing to primarily focus on future changes, Sanchia’s training in Solution Focussed Brief Therapy and Reality Therapy supports her clients in making choices towards their preferred futures.

Sanchia is a certified Transactional Analysis Practitioner (USTAA) and has extensive training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy and Choice Theory Reality Therapy (CTRT). She is also well-versed in Narrative Therapy and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).

As a child Sanchia travelled with her family to Mauritius and Belize before returning to England to study. In her mid-twenties she moved to Singapore with her own family and has since been working in the education sector at an International School. Her work with young people and their families in Singapore, and her personal experience as a third culture kid learning in a total immersion second language environment, has given Sanchia a well-rounded perspective of expatriate life and the complexities of living in a multicultural society. Residing in Singapore for 28 years, Sanchia has built a strong connection with her host country and an appreciation of the nuances and pace of city living.

Sanchia is providing pro bono counselling on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings but there is a $60.00 charge to cover the cost of the counselling space.

Sanchia holds a Masters in Advanced Counselling, Swinburne University, Melbourne; BSc (Hons), Biology and Geology, The University of Manchester, UK; Post Graduate Certificate in Education, The University of Nottingham, UK; Certificate in TESOL (Trinity College London).
Sanchia is a Registered Member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists [MBACP] and is a member of Singapore Association for Counselling [SAC].
